About Jock:  Jock was born in Billings, Montana. He graduated from Senior High School. For his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Washington. He graduated from Washington with a degree in business in 1974. After graduation Jock returned to Missoula, Montana were he attended the University of Montana for Law school. Jock graduated from there in 1977. Upon completion of his legal studies, he moved to Helena to clerk for the Honorable Paul Hatfield at the Montana Supreme Court in 1977.  Following his time with the Montana Supreme Court, he returned to Billings where he prosecuted on behalf of Yellowstone County. In 1982, he started West Law Firm. P.C. in Billings. With the exception of a one year appointment as a special Prosecutor for Big Horn County in 1983, he has run his office and raised his family from there.

About Jock: 

Jock was born in Billings, Montana. He graduated from Senior High School. For his undergraduate studies, he attended the University of Washington. He graduated from Washington with a degree in business in 1974.

About Brian:  Brian was born in Billings, Montana and graduated from Billings Senior High School. Brian attended the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. There he majored in International Political Economy and Mandarin Chinese. He was a varsity rower and an editor for The Internationalist Magazine. During his senior year, he completed a Chinese Language and Business program on the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) campus. Brian worked for a short while in Beijing for the IES program at BFSU. Brian attended the University of Montana for law school. While there he continued to maintain an interest in China. He attended the Marco Polo-Zheng He Maritime Law program at Xiamen University in 2007 and was the president of the International Law Society. While in law school, Brian also found an increasing interest in local issues facing Montana such as conservation, land, and water issues. To that end, Brian was one of the Publications Editors for the Public Land and Resources Law Review. During his final year in school, he was a clinical intern for the Missoula County Attorney’s office. After graduation, Brian went to work for the Polson office of the State Public Defender. He spent his time in Polson doing criminal trial work in Lake and Sanders counties. While there, Brian handled both felony and misdemeanor trial work. Brian has since moved to the Missoula Valley and opened the western office of West Law Firm, P.C.. He continues to ski, hike, and spend time on the rivers whenever possible.
